# How to rank a comment on a thread?

CrowdReply makes it easy to rank your comment to the top of a Reddit thread by adding upvotes. This helps __increase the visibility of your comments.__

1. **Enter the Thread URL**
Paste the Reddit thread link where you want your comment to appear.
2. **Write Your Comment**
Add your comment text in the editor.
3. **Choose a Tag**
Assign this comment task to one of your tags so you can easily track it later.
4. **Enable Ranking**
Scroll to **Upvote Details** and check ✅ **“I want to rank my comment.”**
5. **Check the Top Comment Benchmark**
CrowdReply will automatically show you how many upvotes the **top comment** in that thread has.
    * Example: *The top comment has “109” upvotes.*
    * Your comment must get more than that to outrank it.
6. **Set Upvotes Needed**
Enter the number of upvotes required to pass the top comment (e.g., **113**).
7. **Set Daily Upvote Speed**
Select how many upvotes per day you want delivered (**__e.g., 1 upvote/5 mins or 1 upvote/10-30min__**).
8. **Choose When to Start**
The recommend time is after **__10 or 14 days__.**
9. **Submit Task**
Once confirmed, CrowdReply will start boosting your comment until it ranks above the top one.

✅ **Pro Tip:**
* Avoid [sending too many upvotes too quickly](https://crowdreply.crisp.help/en/article/adding-upvotes-to-a-new-comment-on-an-old-thread-pluisx/), especially on older threads. Your comments will trigger Reddit's filters and ultimately have them removed.
