# How to use Competitor Analysis

Use **Competitor Analysis** to see how your brand ranks against other companies in AI-generated answers, spot gaps, and decide where to focus next.

#### What you can do

The **Competitors** section helps you:

* See your **visibility rank**, **share of voice**, and **avg. sentiment** vs tracked competitors
* Review a **leaderboard** with visibility, sentiment, average position, and which **AI models** mention each brand
* Open a **head-to-head detail** page for any competitor
* **Compare** your brand against multiple competitors in one view
* Plot brands on a **Positioning Matrix** (visibility vs sentiment)
* **Manage** which competitors you track (up to 10 per brand)
* **Export** PDF reports from Compare, Positioning Matrix, and Competitor Detail

#### Plan access

**Competitor Analysis** is included on all plans (Starter, Growth, and Enterprise).

You need an **active subscription** and a **brand selected** in the top bar.

**Team members** on a shared workspace can view it when they switch to the **team profile** and pick a brand.

#### How to use it

1. In the left sidebar, open [**Competitors**](https://crowdreply.io/competitor-analysis) under **AI SEARCH**.
2. Pick a tab at the top:
* **Leaderboard**
* **Positioning Matrix**
* **Compare**
* **Manage**

##### Leaderboard

* Check the KPI cards: **Visibility rank**, **Share of voice**, **Avg. sentiment**, **Top mover**, and **Models**.
* Filter by date (**Last 7 days**, **Last 14 days**, **Last 30 days**, or a custom range) and by **AI model**.
* Search competitors by name (type at least two characters).
* Click [**Manage competitors**](https://crowdreply.io/competitor-analysis?tab=manage) to add or remove tracked brands.
* In the table, your brand is marked **YOU**. Click any other row to open **Competitor Detail**.

##### Manage competitors

1. Open the [**Manage**](https://crowdreply.io/competitor-analysis?tab=manage) tab (or click **Manage competitors** on the Leaderboard).
2. Use **Available** to browse the catalog and **Select** competitors you want to track.
3. Switch to **Selected** to review your list or remove brands.
4. You can track up to **10** competitors per brand. Use **Add competitor** in the Selected view to add more from the catalog.

##### Positioning Matrix

* Read the [**Competitive positioning**](https://crowdreply.io/competitor-analysis?tab=positioning-matrix) chart: visibility on the horizontal axis, sentiment on the vertical axis.

* Click a bubble to open that competitor's detail page.
* Click **Export** to download a PDF of the matrix.

* Open any competitor from the Leaderboard or Positioning Matrix.
* Review head-to-head stats, **Visibility over time**, **Top sources**, and prompt-level comparisons.
* Use **Export** to download a prompts PDF.
* Click the back arrow to return to the previous Competitor Analysis tab.

#### Good to know

* **Sentiment** is a **0-100 score** with color bands. It is not labeled Positive, Neutral, or Negative.
* Competitor data respects your **date** and **AI model** filters across tabs.
* If your brand is **archived**, Competitor Analysis is not available until you restore it.
* Switching to a different brand in the sidebar while viewing a competitor detail page returns you to the main Competitors list.

#### FAQs
