How to use the Backlinks Marketplace

Use the Backlinks Marketplace to discover publisher sites, compare authority and traffic signals, build orders, and track placements from one dashboard.

What you can do

The marketplace helps you:

  • Browse thousands of publisher sites and filter by DR, Traffic, placement type, category, geography, and price
  • Save sites to Favorites for later
  • Add sites or bundles to Your cart and check out with your account balance or a New card
  • Submit a brief for each placement (anchor text, target URL, content direction, and more)
  • For Article placements, choose Let AI write it for me or Upload my own article
  • Track order progress under My orders with status filters like Brief Pending, In Processing, and Live

Who can use it

You do not need an active CrowdReply subscription to order backlinks. The marketplace is separate from plan billing.

You need:

  • A CrowdReply client account (workspace owner)
  • Enough credits in your account balance to pay, or a card for New card checkout
  • A brand selected in the top bar before you place an order

Team members invited to a shared workspace can browse the marketplace from a team profile, but they cannot purchase. Only the workspace owner can cart, checkout, and manage backlink orders from their Personal profile.

Browse sites

  1. In the left sidebar, open Backlinks under SEO GROWTH.
  2. Pick a tab:
    • All: full catalog with filters
    • Favorites: sites you starred

  1. Under Placements, filter by Article, Link Insertion, Homepage, or Sitewide.
  2. Use the filter bar to search domains, set DR and Traffic ranges, or open More filters for Category, Geography, and Price. Click Show results.
  3. Type in the search box to see domain suggestions. Click Use as keyword to add a keyword chip, or pick a domain to open site details.
  4. On a site card or details view, choose a placement, then click Add to cart.

Select the brand you want the backlinks to support before you checkout. Orders are tied to that brand.

Checkout

  1. Click the cart icon in the top bar to open Your cart.

  1. Review sites, bundles, and placement counts. Use Clear all if you need to start over.
  2. Click Proceed to checkout →.
  3. In checkout, review the order summary on the left and totals on the right.
  4. Under Pay with, choose Account balance or New card (Add card / wallet).
  5. Click Pay · followed by the total amount.

After payment succeeds, use Track order to open My orders, or Add brief to start your briefs right away.

Submit a brief

Each purchased placement needs a brief before production starts.

  1. Open My orders in the sidebar.
  2. Find the order and click Add brief on a line item (or use Add brief from the success screen after checkout).
  3. Fill in the placement fields (anchor text, target URL, content direction, and any other required fields).
  4. Save the brief for each site. Use Edit brief later if you need to update a submission still in review.

For Article placements, the brief asks How should the article be created? You can choose:

  • Let AI write it for me (Recommended): enter an article topic, target URL, anchor text, and optional custom instructions, then generate a full draft you can edit before approval. You can generate up to 3 times per article.
  • Upload my own article: upload a prepared .docx file (up to 5 MB), plus your target URL and anchor text.

Other placement types (for example Link Insertion) do not use the AI or upload article options. They use anchor, URL, and content-direction fields only.

Typical next steps after you submit: Review & Send for production, then Published & Live when the link is on the publisher site.

Track orders

  1. Open My orders under SEO GROWTH.
  2. Search by domain or order details.
  3. Filter by status: All, Brief Pending, In Processing, In Review, Issues Found, Live, On Hold, or Cancelled.
  4. Expand an order card to see line items, statuses, and activity. Open View brief to review what you submitted.

Good to know

  • Marketplace prices are shown per placement. Checkout uses your credits (account balance) or a card. This is separate from your subscription plan.
  • If your balance is too low, choose New card at checkout or top up from Account SettingsBilling.
  • Bundle savings may apply when you buy curated bundles. The cart shows Bundle savings before you pay.
  • Favoriting a site (star icon) adds it to the Favorites tab without adding it to your cart.
  • If checkout fails, read the error in the payment panel and try again. Make sure a brand is selected if you see a brand-required message.

FAQs

Do I need an active plan to use the Backlinks Marketplace?
No. You do not need an active CrowdReply subscription to browse or purchase backlinks. Pay with account balance credits or a card.

Why can't I buy backlinks from my team profile?
Team members can open Backlinks and browse the catalog, but purchasing is blocked on a team profile (cart and checkout are unavailable). Switch to the workspace owner's Personal profile to cart, checkout, and manage orders.

Do backlink orders use credits?
Yes. Checkout draws from your account balance unless you pay with New card. This is separate from your subscription intelligence features.

Can my teammate place a backlink order?
No. Teammates can browse the marketplace, but only the workspace owner can cart and checkout from their Personal profile.

Can AI write my article for me?
Yes, for Article placements. In the brief, choose Let AI write it for me (Recommended), or choose Upload my own article if you already have a .docx file.

How long until a link goes live?
Timelines vary by publisher and placement type. After checkout, submit your brief promptly. Many orders go live within about 7-10 working days once production starts, but some take longer.

What if the publisher rejects my content?
Check My orders for Issues Found or In Review status. Open the order activity to see notes, then update your brief or contact support from the chat widget.
